About funerals
Funerals held at St Peter’s are nearly always arranged via a funeral director who will then contact the vicar to agree a date and time. The clergy also take funerals for Norton residents at a crematorium.
The Church of England funeral service provides a way to hand a loved one into God’s care and we always work with the family to plan a suitable service which can include hymns, readings and music of your choice. Some people want to include a eulogy given by a family member or friend, others prefer the clergy to say the words for them.
At a time of loss it is important to create space to honour a person’s life and allow family and friends to say goodbye and we take great care to try and ensure this is done in the best way possible.
