Activities, Events & News

Take a look at a few highlights of the Archbishop's Pilgrimage of Prayer Witness & Blessing in the Southern Ryedale Deanery

Monthly Prayer Events - We share refreshments, worship in song, and learn about prayer together.

Messy Church - Held in Church House, with a short time of worship in church, Messy Church is based around a theme and we have crafts and activities, a bible story, songs and prayers and finish with a meal together. Open to children and parent/carer (no unaccompanied children). Have a look through the photos of recent Messy Church events on our facebook page to see what we get up to! If you would like to volunteer to help out please contact our vicar.

Bell-ringing - We have a peal of 8 bells at St Peter's and a team of bell-ringers who meet to practice on Wednesday nights.

If you are interested in joining them contact Paul Buckle on 07790 194652

Fellowship - We have a few groups that meet informally each week either in the afternoon or in the evening. Some use set courses and video materials to study the bible and help guide discussion and prayer. If you are interested in joining a group, contact our vicar, or pick up a leaflet from the back of church which includes information about each group and the contact details for the group leaders.

First Thursday Club - meets monthly in Church House for food and chat.

The first Thursday of each month 12:30 - 2pm. Everyone welcome, just come along! More details from Eileen Washbrook 01653 693113

ManPower - a group for the men of St Peters. It is an opportunity to grow in faith, to encourage one another and to enjoy fellowship together as we meet to reflect on the Bible readings and sermon. The group meets every two weeks on a Tuesday evening at someone's house 8:00pm-9:30pm. If you are not already a member of a weekly group (or you wish to join a second group!) then please come along.

We run Alpha Courses, which are a great, informal way to explore the Christian Faith. Over several weeks we share food and refreshments, hear an interesting talk on an aspect of the Christian faith, and gather in small groups to discuss any questions we have. No question is too hard or 'wrong'! Thousands across the UK have done Alpha, and been encouraged in their understanding of faith, God, and how Christianity is relevant to our lives today. You can watch a video about Alpha here.

We also run 'Start' courses which are an introduction to the Christian faith. If you are interested in finding out more (or know someone who might be) please contact our vicar (details can be found on the contact page).

Dates of events can be found on the pewsheet and are also advertised on our facebook page.

Have a look at the Church House facebook page for details of more events that take place.
